N-BASE Manuals

These manuals describe the N-BASE portable source code, and provide information on how to use it.

  • DC-ATM Porting Guide - provides information on porting the N-BASE source code to your target environment, and on customising the DC-ATM products to suit your requirements.

  • N-BASE Version 2.0 Interface Specification - describes the interface provided by the N-BASE for use by DC-ATM components.

  • N-BASE Version 2.0 Product Support Library - describes a set of portable utility functions which are provided with the N-BASE source code.

Interface Specifications

These manuals explain the external interfaces of DC-ATM products.

  • DC-ATM Signalling Interfaces Specification - describes the Signalling Interface (between Signalling and Call Control) and the End System Interface (between Call Control and an end system).

  • DC-ATM Signalling Management Interfaces Specification - describes the Stack Management Interface (for managing both DC-Signalling and DC-Call Control), and the SSCS Management Interface (for managing the SSCS component of DC-Signalling).

  • DC-ATM Library Interfaces Specification - describes the interfaces to the Call Database Manager Library, VPCI/VCI Allocation Library, and Message Support Library provided by DC-Signalling.

  • DC-ATM CPCS Interface Specification - describes the interface to the CPCS Stub used by DC-ATM products.

  • DC-ATM Routing Interface Specification - describes the Routing Interface (between Call Control and PNNI Routing).

  • DC-ATM Switch Fabric Control Interface Specification - describes the Switch Fabric Control interface (between Call Control and an external component providing Switch Programming and Connection Admission Control functions), and the Address Translation interface (between Call Control and an external component providing translation between the local and network address formats).

  • DC-PNNI Management Interfaces Specification - describes the management interfaces to DC-PNNI from an External Management component (for configuring DC-PNNI to match the configuration of the local switch, and for accessing MIB-based management information).

  • DC-ILMI Management Interfaces Specification - describes the management interfaces to DC-ILMI from an External Management component (for starting DC-ILMI and receiving information on its status, and for accessing MIB-based management information).

  • DC-FTM Interface Specification - describes the signals used at the Management Interface and the Replication Interface, and explains how they are used. It describes the extension to the End System Handler Interface and the additional structures in the Switch Fabric Control Interface which are used only if DC-FTM is replicating data to support fault-tolerant operation in DC-Call Control. It also describes the signals used at the SDU Library Interface.
