Agere Systems (Acquired by LSI) APC

DC-ATM is fully integrated with the Agere Systems (Acquired by LSI) Atlanta^TM switching chip set, including the APC, ASX and ACE devices. This chip set is a very high-function, flexible switching solution for ATM devices.

Using DC-ATM with these chips allows customers to receive an off-the-shelf port that significantly reduces their development burden.

In addition, DC-ATM is available pre-ported to a reference system including

• VxWorks®
• PowerPC®
• Agere Systems APC/ASX
• Conexant SAR

This can be used as a basis for customers to build similar systems or systems using similar components.

Data Connection's APC support software includes several main features:

• Call Admission Control (CAC) based on the most advanced algorithms in the public domain. In addition, Data Connection is working with Agere Systems research engineers to improve the CAC function and optimise the performance of the Agere Systems APC device.
  
  
• Integration with the Agere Systems APC driver API. This ensures that DC-ATM and Agere Systems APC customers do not need to access this API for VC management.
  
  
• Flexible architecture. This software can be used in distributed and centralised systems, and can even be used with ATM control plane software from other sources.
