DC-LANE Services provides support for LAN Emulation (LANE) Services, as defined by the ATM Forum LUNI (LANE V2.0) Specification.

Functions and Features

DC-LANE Services includes the following functions.

  • Conformance to the LANE Emulation Over ATM V2.0 (LUNI) specification
  • Two distinct components, which can be co-located on the same network device:
    • DC-LECS, implementing the LANE Configuration Server functions
    • DC-LES/BUS, implementing the LANE Server and Broadcast and Unknown Server functions
  • Support for UNI 4.0 Signalling (with conversion to other Signalling protocols provided by DC-Call Control)
  • Support for the LAN Emulation Server MIB
  • Emulation of Ethernet LANs
  • Flexible interface to the BUS Forwarder data path component allows an implementation to resolve unicast addresses to Multicast Send VCCs.
  • Two alternative implementations of the BUS Forwarder data path component, providing simple or extended (i.e. unicast address resolution) data forwarding function
  • Support for the LAN Emulation Server MIBs.
