MPLS Software
What is MPLS?
Introduction to MPLS and its uses
Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is one of the central elements of next generation networks. It provides an IP-compatible, QoS-capable infrastructure that enables the convergence of voice, IP, ATM, Ethernet, and Frame Relay onto the same backbone network.
Data Connection has led the development of MPLS control plane software for over 5 years, taking a leading role in driving the optical standards.
Data Connection's MPLS software, DC-MPLS, is a high quality, portable MPLS source code solution designed for the most demanding applications.
DC-MPLS provides the MPLS label distribution protocols RSVP and LDP, is fully IPv6 compliant, and includes extensions for optical transport networks and VPNs.

- Highly available architectures
- Hot software upgrade
- Distribution of components onto separate cards
- Large scale applications (no hard-coded limits).
DC-MPLS is widely deployed, and used by many of the major equipment manufacturers. It interoperates with all major implementations, including Cisco and Juniper, and is regularly tested at public and private interop events.
DC-MPLS is fully integrated with DCL's other control plane protocols including IP Routing and LMP, and provides a complete control plane for both edge and optical transport network devices.
