What is IGMP?
Introduction to IGMP and its uses
DC-IGMP is an implementation of Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) source code designed explicitly to support the scalability, availability and functional requirements of OEMs building devices for next generation networks.
DC-IGMP is a member of the Multicast IP Routing software family developed by Data Connection, and shares its Product Family Architecture.
DC-IGMP has comprehensive support for the relevant standards, with management interfaces and a design suited for the most demanding applications.

IGMP Protocol Function
The initial release of DC-IGMP provides support for the router-side parts of the following specifications.
- IGMP v3, as specified in RFC 3376.
- IGMP v2, as specified in RFC 2236.
- IGMP v1, as specified in RFC 1112.
- IGMP SSM support, as specified in RFC 4604.
- The Multicast Group Membership Discovery MIB, as described in draft-ietf-magma-mgmd-mib.
Further releases of DC-IGMP will add support for the following.
- The router-side parts of MLD v1 and v2, as specified in RFCs 2710 and 3810.
- IGMP Proxy, as described in RFC 4605.
- High availability and fault tolerance in management of configuration information when used with Configuration Safe Store
